The Brainerd Lakes Area is home to many unique events, business and things to do. One event that the Brainerd Area is home to is the Off The Rails Market! This is a pop-up market series at the historic Northern Pacific Center. This market highlights Minnesota’s best makers, brands and small businesses who have a vision for providing uniquely sourced and handmade goods. You will find everything from candles and pet treats to handmade furniture and jewelry at these markets.
The Off The Rails Market is held in the Brainerd Exchange. This historic venue dates back to 1871 where it was once a machine shop for the Northern Pacific Railway. All iron and steel work was done here and the locomotives were repaired and fitted for the road. The Brainerd Exchange now hosts all types of conventions, expos and events, including the market.
The Off The Rails Market partners with a local nonprofit each market. They receive a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales. You can find the nonprofit stationed by the entrance of each market, make sure you stop by and see what they are all about! The upcoming nonprofit that we have partnered with for the February 18 & 19 market is the Heroes Program of Crow Wing County. They provide mental health resources to first responders.
